Character:
Name: Beatrice 'Bertie' Shakespeare Smith
Canon: Théâtre Illuminata trilogy by Lisa Mantchev
Canon Point: The end of Perchance to Dream (book 2), escaping Sedna's cave-in.
Abilities: As the Mistress of Revels, Teller of Tales, Wordsmith, Rhymer, Daughter of Earth, and Forest Queen, Bertie is able to make her words a reality - as a child (and before she fully grasped her abilities) she drew the sky raining candies, and it actually did rain candies. Not everything she writes/says/thinks turns into reality, of course, but with her magic she's able to do quite a bit. By the end of the second book she's able to bend earth and water to her will in some ways (enveloping her and the two she was trying to save in granite and transporting them out of Sedna's grasp and then channeling that same power after to save herself by pressing into the ground and coming out of Sedna's trap by traveling through the ground and trees,) however using any sort of magic in that way drains her pretty quick, so she doesn't use that much power often.
She also carries a scrimshaw that allows her to see under the mask that people put up around others, to see what they really are. She has to concentrate for that, but it also keeps her powers in check. A permissions post will be made for this, of course.
